Summary of role:
Cost and design electricity infrastructure projects across the Company’s portfolio of commercial and residential schemes. Throughout the project lifecycle, the electrical engineer will ensure that any costing mechanisms and designs are technically and commercially compliant and delivered within agreed timescales.
They will be integral in ensuring standards are met and compliance with network owners and company accreditations are delivered at all times
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Produce full and budget quotations for the company’s portfolio of electrical projects in line with commercial procedures and client requirements.
- Undertake pre-start site meetings with clients/stakeholders, ensuring they are aware of roles, responsibilities and required industry specifications and standards, for the utilities to be adopted.
- Complete high level designs to assist the tendering department.
- Produce electric design variations in accordance with company procedures and client requirements.
- Communicate with the adopting electricity DNOs/IDNOs throughout tender/design lifecycle.
- Attend tendering and pre-start site meeting to provide technical support.
- Attend client meetings/calls to provide technical support.
- Execute the company’s electrical design functions, ensuring that processes are followed providing designs that are compliant with all relevant codes of practice, company and industry standards.
- Support and develop other members of the business to enhance their technical knowledge.
- Assist in gaining and maintaining NERS accreditation.
- Complete electronic and paper forms in line with defined company procedures.
- Assist in resolving Health, Safety and Environment, engineering, customer satisfaction and product quality problems.
- Will be involved in process management and review.
- Maintaining company SHEQ standards, interacting with company systems to ensure continued compliance with legislation and industry standards.

Computer skills:
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and relevant electric design programmes.
Literacy and numeracy:
Able to produce clear, concise and accurate written communications to both internal and external stakeholders and through all aspects of the enquiry and design lifecycle.
