Title: Construction Operative / Multi Utility Team

Reports to: Construction Manager

Based at: South West / South East /  Wales

Hours: 37.5 per week

Job purpose:

Installation of utility infrastructure across the company’s scope of awarded projects

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Install utility infrastructure as instructed, commissioning where relevant, ensuring that all work is undertaken to a high standard of safety and technical quality by following all appropriate generic and specific method statements, work procedures and safety instructions.
  • Accurately record details of work undertaken and submit within the required timescale
  • Identify at an early stage all design variations and action in accordance with the company deviations and variations procedure.
  • Promote and demonstrate a culture of Health, Safety & Quality at all times.
  • Ensure safe working wearing relevant PPE that is supplied.
  • Ensure vehicles, plant and equipment remain in good condition, and report any defects.
  • Complete daily site-specific risk assessments and ensure maintenance of a safe working environment.
  • Report any accidents and incidents.
  • Attend toolbox talks and other training courses as required.
  • Any other duties as deemed appropriate by the company that fall within the general experience.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • Full unrestricted valid UK Driving Licence (to include towing where possible)
  • SHEA Gas/Power/Water
  • First aid certification
  • NCO Gas/ Water – Mains /Services
  • Excavator and dumper

Desirable Qualifications

  • Safe Control of Operations – SCO 1, 2, 4 and 5 – Desirable
  • Competent Person (Water)
  • NRSWA Operative
