Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: : £23,400 - £30,000

Job Purpose:

Produce project cost estimates, proposal documents and tendering drawings for the Company’s enquiry portfolio as part of the wider sales process. Experience and Qualifications:

Costing/commercial background with proven ability and demonstrable experience. Experience in self-managing a workload with multiple deadlines/SLAs across a varied project/customer portfolio. Strong numerical and written skills. Previous experience within utility infrastructure industry is desirable.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Review new enquiries and liaise with the customer/Sales team where required to agree project requirements. 
  • Create CAD proposal drawings ensuring efficiency of routes and identifying potential adoption issues.  
  • Undertake project cost creation using defined costing models and processes.
  • Prepare draft proposal documents ensuring they reflect proposal drawings, cost model outputs and project/local conditions.
  • Liaise and discuss optimal route and costing options with the customer during the enquiry process ensuring all customer requests are considered.
  • Apply estimated loads to a draft customer layout and create a proposal drawing according to basic design rules (where applicable).
  • Build relationships with external customers and internal stakeholders offering excellent customer service throughout the process from initial contact to responding to post acceptance queries.
  • Respond to customer enquiries and support the Sales team and/or directors where required.
  • Undertake all activities within agreed standards of service and in compliance with company technical guidelines.
  • Carry out any other duties deemed appropriate for the role.
  • Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety, and quality management.
  • Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility.
  • Attend training and develop relevant knowledge and skills.

Can analyse and identify trends from information sources and able to make decisive decisions for the betterment of delivery and company development.

Computer Skills:

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and able to adapt to new programs and systems. Any experience in 2D CAD would be beneficial.

Literacy and Numeracy:

Able to produce clear, concise and accurate written communications through all aspects of the enquiry and proposal life-cycle. Must be numerically proficient.
